ItĄŻs no longer a dream.
CastBox will make
a dream come true. As typewriter faded away because
of computerĄŻs appearance, video shop may sooner or later
disappear in the street because of Internet that will
be providing high quality movies in picture and sound.
Such a service was impossible because of excessive load
to be imposed on both the network and server. It was
once tried with Baek Ji-young (Koran singer) farewell
concert and Park Chan-ho (baseball pitcher) Major League
game before, but failed due to breakdown of server and
network, resulting from excessive load on them.
ItĄŻs never an unreasonable assumption to provide services
to the ten thousands as long as it offers quality services.
Supporting 10Gbps (10Gbps = 1Mbps x 10,000viewers) at
a time, however, is what can hardly be achieved with
the capacity of existing server and network. We, at
a glance, see it costs at least hundreds of billions
won to make it viable.
Multicast is recommended
as best alternative to tackle such a challenge.
Multicast functioning to simultaneously transmit identical
data to the multi-users will be able to come up with
the solution. This is however subject to availability
of existing networkĄŻs full-scale support to Multi-cast
because it requires a huge amount of investment which
the Internet service provider can hardly afford to,
if not being supported. This is why the services have
yet to be in operation.
How to make it compatible with Multicast network, refraining
from making major changes to existing network? CastBox
is what offers the solution. It made it possible
what we had believed impossible. CastBox,
a self-developed Multicast solution, helps existing networks works
well with Multicast, and even in the case of networkĄŻs
partial support to Mult-cast, it will enable them to
work with entire system. Moreover, it helps provide
stable HD streaming services to multi-users, minimizing
the loads on server and network.
Now itĄŻs no longer a dream.
Internet movie services offering a better-than-TV quality
are just around the corner.
